My story
I'm Nada
ABDELKADER
a passionate ecologist from Tunisia. Since childhood, I've been captivated by the beauty and diversity of nature, particularly in the unique landscape of South Tunisia, where the desert meets the oasis. My fascination with ecology began as I observed the intricate relationships between various species, all thriving in harmony with the palm trees and other elements of the ecosystem. These early experiences instilled in me a profound respect and admiration for the delicate balance of nature.
Driven by this passion
I pursued a degree in marine ecology at the faculty of Sciences of Tunis, University El Manar, Tunisia, where I immersed myself in the study of marine ecosystems and conservation. Here, I delved deeper into understanding the complexities of marine ecosystems and the importance of conservation efforts. Breaking through barriers, I obtained my level 2 diving certificate issued by the Tunisian Federation of Underwater Activities and Water Rescue, recognized by CMAS, allowing me to explore the depths of the sea as both a scientist and a diver.
Today, I am proud to be actively involved in research and conservation efforts focused on marine ecosystems in Tunisia, especially with the Tunisian Association of Taxonomy – ATUTAX. It is an active Tunisian NGO that works in different parts of the country to preserve biodiversity, engaging researchers and local communities for the benefit of Tunisia and the Mediterranean Sea. My PhD work primarily revolves around studying and restoring seagrass habitats, with the ultimate goal of safeguarding marine biodiversity and promoting sustainable coastal management practices.
