Exploring Kerkennah

Working in conservation and as a young ecologist has given me a unique perspective on the beauty of nature and the intricate details of the captivating archipelago, Kerkennah.
The diverse landscapes, ranging from palm trees to saltmarshes, to the stunning sea, with the unique feature of experiencing both high and low tides within the same day, leave me in awe.

Moreover, Kerkennah serves as a nexus between land and sea, where traditional fishing techniques are skillfully practiced, showcasing the deep connection between these two realms. This connection is evident in every aspect, from the palm tree leaves that are intricately woven into fishing traps to the fishermen who rely on these traps for their livelihoods.

Life in Kerkennah is not without its challenges, yet amidst the difficulties, simplicity prevails.
